Is Polygamy a feminist issue?

Polygamy is a feminist issue, it is a matter of justice for women as they are objects of polygamy. Women fought for years to have the same rights as men. Through polygamy, we are not honouring our female activists who gave their lives for the rights that we have today. No women wants to be shared along many other women, by doing this, how is marriage portrayed as a sacred union.

  1. I think that people have a right to their own beliefs. If a female accepts the fact that their husband has multiple wives but he still makes time for each one of them, it is ok, in the sence that she acknowledges that he has other responsibilities and still makes time for her.

In this day of time, people are doing this and are living their lives as normal with others still having their own thoughts on this issue, but at the end of the day its still all up to the married couple to make that decision.

  2. Yes, i agree when it comes to freedom of choice. Females have the right to choose whether to enter into a multiple marriage. In islam polygamy is not uncommon yet, in the holyscripture, the male has to be able to take full responsibility for many wives if so choosing.

I have no disrespect towards those cultures who practice polygamy yet, in full context females rights are being simplified through sharing a marriage.
